GEN Z SLANGS YOU SHOULD KNOW

DIHAAN

The world is ruled by Gen Z now, and nothing can convince me otherwise. And while this has been good in some regards, in others, it has brought downfalls.

Let’s begin with the first one: language. And most importantly, slangs. Slangs, as in abbreviations commonly on young counterparts’ tongues. As one of those Gen Z’s myself, here are some we always use.

1. Cap. No, this doesn’t mean the head- cap. This is used to deem something as fake/untrue. It is also used in no cap, which you say to mean that something is true.

2. For real. You say this to make yourself seem sincere about something that you’re saying, and to solidify a fact.

3. Facts. This is used to agree with somebody’s opinion. For example, if somebody states something which you think is true, you can reply with “facts!”

4. Lit. This describes something you think is impressive or cool.

5. Stan. This can be a noun or verb, used to describe somebody as a die hard fan of something.

6. W or L. W is used to call something a win, and L is for lose.

7. Low-key. This means not widely known, or seriously.

8. Sus. This is a short version of suspicious.

9. Tea. As in “spill the tea”. This means gossip.

10. Simp. This is used to describe a person who obsesses over an individual or celebrity.

I hope these help you.

Love, Dihaan.
