Self- consciousness is a syndrome that not only plagues teens but can afflict people of all ages. While not romanticized, it is widely accepted as a stage of puberty, and something people outgrow. Confidence is a skill we all wish to master, and today I’ll guide you through some surefire methods to achieve what you desire.

 The first trick to seem confident is to look like you know what you’re doing. While sometimes it’s good to admit you’re wrong, when you want to seem surefire in your actions, you should act like you’re on top of it all. If you make a mistake, just laugh it off, smile at people, assure them you knew your mistake and are working to fix it simultaneously. Don’t be anxious, just grin and shake it off.

 Another essential method is body language. This is deadly important. When your limbs are jerky and you fidget with your hands, you seem nervous/ anxious and don’t come off as smooth. Relax your body, stand up straight and nod, with a side-grin on your face like you’re in control. Jam your hands in your pockets, maintain eye contact and for sure, keep your spine straight (something I frequently fail at). Look like you’re the boss.

 Walk confidently. I have one such walk like this- I call it my model walk. Keep your arms at your sides, take steps straightly, and by this I mean keep steps straight in front of each other. Head straight, acknowledging but not overeager, eyes sweeping over the surroundings. Take strides, not steps. All eyes will be on you in no time.

 Don’t seem overeager. Let them walk up to you or start the conversation, not the other way around. If you instantly run up to someone, it seems like you’re a suckup or a doormat. Let them notice you, then go up and just say, “Hey.” Way cooler than “Hi! How was your day? Mine was great. Oh, sorry, I’ll leave then.”

These are just tips I use. I hope you like them and they help you.
